A Note on Preparation and Support Since Our Last Update
Since our last update, we’ve spent time reflecting on what people are really looking for when they’re preparing for surgery. No matter the procedure, recovery often comes with uncertainty, stress, and a long list of things to figure out—sometimes all at once.
Many people share that the hardest part of recovery isn’t the surgery itself, but what comes afterward. Supplies can feel scattered. Guidance can feel inconsistent. Loved ones want to help but aren’t always sure what will actually be useful. Recovery can feel isolating, especially in those first days at home.
Over time, we’ve seen how thoughtful preparation can make recovery feel more manageable. Recovery Kits and supplies are often purchased not just by individuals, but by partners, parents, friends, and community organizations—people trying to show care in practical ways. Some return for additional items once recovery begins. Others choose customized options because their needs don’t fit into a standard checklist.
Looking back since our last update, we’ve seen how often people reach out simply wanting recovery to feel a little easier. While our roots remain in gender-affirming care, we’ve continued to support a wide range of recovery needs—with the same focus on helping people feel prepared, supported, and a little less alone before surgery.
What these experiences have in common isn’t a specific type of surgery, but a shared desire for recovery to feel calmer and more intentional. Whether someone is preparing for gender-affirming surgery, a mastectomy, a hysterectomy, or another procedure entirely, the need for comfort, preparation, and dignity remains the same.
If you’re preparing for surgery—or supporting someone who is—know that recovery doesn’t have to be navigated alone. Having what you need ahead of time can make space for rest, healing, and reassurance when it matters most.
As always, we’re grateful to be trusted during such a vulnerable time, and we’ll continue doing this work with care, intention, and respect for every recovery journey.
Thank you for being here,
